May 22, 200521 yr Yes, I know I could append to one of the other threads, but ...... I've complained so much in different forums about slow gauges, so I feel like showing up when someone does it right too!Actually I haven't been simming much lately for the same reason. There's a lot of nice GA's out there, but they all suffer from those oh' so slow instruments. What I did wrong is this: I bought LOMAC and IL2 Forgotten Battles, and was stunned by the fluid performance of these games, but after a while I got bored by flying over those flat, unrealistic landscapes. And the battle part of it didn't interest me much.Back to FS9, and my God how cheap those vc's appeared! I dreamt about flying a LOMAC or IL2 plane in FS9, cause the world in FS with some addons (Misty Fjords, Lennarts textures, Flight Enviroment, you name it) is increadible!HEY, NOW I CAN DO THAT! THANK YOU REALAIR! The VC's in the Spit and SF260 is even better than the IL2/LOMAC ones, cause they are functional too.I don't know what more to add, just that I'm more than impressed, this is a revolution! Just take a spin in the SF260 or Spit, and you can actually rely on the altitude indicator, and know when to straighten out. And the SF260 compass ... WOW!Add to this that the airfiles, sounds and exteriour look of these two aircrafts are perfect as well :)This makes a complete new sim, once again: Thank you very much RealAir staff!brEagle
May 22, 200521 yr Thanks for the kind words. And thanks for noticing the compass....an inspired piece of work by my partner Sean Moloney.Kind Regards,Rob Young Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
May 22, 200521 yr Rob,That compass caught my eye right away. When I saw it the first thing I did was cover up the AI & HSI and fly a partial panel approach. That compass makes it possible and realistic in the FS9 environment. Great touch.Douglas
May 22, 200521 yr That compass is pretty cool - I hit a nasty bout of turbulance on my last flight - that compass was all over the place! Very neat effect.
May 22, 200521 yr Yeah it's a mere piece of art and I made a video to show it as well as the smooth gauges for those who wonder what it looks like.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=255703&page=
