Advice on setting up new rig

Recommended Posts

Boys and Girls,

Let me start by saying that I am a complete technophobe and my limit in doing computer "stuff" is limited to changing my RAM or operating system. Anyway that aside I have been lucky enough to order a new rig which I'm hoping is going be first rate at running FSX and in due course P3D.

The spec I have ordered is ;

Cooler Master Cosmos SE Case, i7 4790k - overclocked , Corsair Hydro H100 , NVidia GTX980, Corsair DDR3 2133MHz 16GB RAM; Asus Maximus VII Ranger mobo; Crucial M500 480gb SSD; Barracuda 2TB HDD, FSP 850W modular power supply, SoundBlaster Zx sound card  all running on W7 ultimate.

Now the big question I have is what drive should I put FSX on. The OS will be on the SSD but should I put FSX on there as well. On my current system the FSX file shows as being just over 56Gb in size - I assume this includes all the add-ons as well. And leading on from that I assume I would be able to fit P3D on their as well or would I be best putting that on the second drive ?

I apologise if this is something that has been asked before but having twin girls running around means I don't have the time to sit doing searches and thought I would put it out to you guys who have much better knowledge than me.

Thanks in advance

Karl
