I'm still none the wiser as to what to actually do. Do I have to trust that this updated SP1c/d will be there when I purchased and downloaded. Still doesn't answer the nagging question as to whether it is an installer for FSX SE compatibility. Now I just have to chance my arm with an attempted install.

The 777 installers on the PMDG ecommerce web site have been exclusively the latest FSX/FSX-SE version since last week. If you just downloaded them for the first time today, there is no possibility you could have the wrong one.
