BAe 146

Featured Replies

I was looking for a good add on aircraft for Jet service into short fields in the Rocky Mountains. I saw the re-paint of the above mentioned aircraft but was wanting to know if anyone could recommend a add on off this or another BAe model that performs well. I think this plane flys regular service into KASE. Also, I am having trouble finding the home web page for the mfg of the BAe plane. The reason for wanting this was to be able to look at the performance specs of the real world aircraft. I was able to get the real world specs for the Dash 8 aircraft this way. While on the subject of short field Jets or fast T-props, (For the KORD-KASE seasonal route ((Chicago, I think this is the symbol)), I was also wanting to ask if anyone can suggest any other aircraft as add ons. I D/L the Dash 8-200 and 100 from Premier Aircraft Design. They seem to fit the job well.Thank you for any help. Mark.

Jon Murchison has a great BAE 146 on his site. He's also currently working on an update for FS2004. I like his work, and the number of repaints available for it. Here's a link:arnz.myhost.co.nzAlso, do a search for Nick Botamer's EMB-120. Until (and if) Erick Cantu releases his model, Nick's model is a great one.-John

Another regional updated BAE146-200 is the AVRO RJ-85 developed from that. It is a staple of Mesaba Airlines (Northwest Airlink) available from www.pmstone.com (Mike Stone freeware). For either one you may wish to check out the freeware panels by Mathias Lieberecht in the libs. He maintains a website at www.baepanelproject.com where you'll get info regarding updates and versions appropriate for your FS flavor. I use his RJ85 panel (great!!!) but have looked over the BAE panel as well. Be sure to get the latest version with updates for these panels as the earlier version used originally for FS2K2 required special FDE files, no longer the case with either panel for either sim. There is some good info on both aircraft at that site. One of the Gulfstreams goes into KASE as a charter. There is an accident on record (nothing to do with plane performance) at the ntsb site with an excellent description of how the difficult approach into KASE was not properly flown.I have not used a TP into this airport, but perhaps a Saab340B or Beech1900D deoending on your pax requirements and performance restrictions for the good climb rate this high, both available on the Mike Stone site, might fit the bill. The runway is about 7,000 feet long but at MSL 7800. I use both of these.
