February 7, 201511 yr Hi Maarten, at first i have to thank you for the very nice and useful work SimLauncher/SimLauncherX! My problem: Using P3D v2.4 and SimLaucherX v1.1.5510.5198 In SimLauncherX i choose a location (Airport and Gate) and then i launch P3D. The sim starts and shows this: You can see, the plane is right of the yellow line. Than i choose the same spot in the P3D menu: Now the plane is at the right place: This misplacement also happens if i choose a runway: I'm only working with stock airports. A rebuild of the database did not help. Kind regards, Walter.
February 7, 201511 yr Hi Walter, Well spotted! I wonder why nobody else (including me) has ever noticed this error. It turned out that I saved the seconds part of the latitude and longitude values with 0 iso of 2 decimals. I will release a new version later today that will include the fix. thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
February 7, 201511 yr Author Hi Maarten, thanks for your quick response. By the way, could you disable the elevation of rights for the program? I added a fix with MS-Compatibility Toolkit and SimLauncherX runs very well without admin-rights. But i have to add a fix for every new release of SimLauncherX. Walter
February 7, 201511 yr Hi Walter, I understand your point, but the flip side of the coin is that I would have to ask users to set SLX to run with admin rights if they have FSX/P3D set to run with admin rights (which many users have done). Same problem with e.g. FTX Central that installs with elevated rights (at least on my Windows 8.1 machine). Without elevated rights, SLX is unable to launch those programs. If the UAC message bothers you, you can create a 'trusted shortcut' on you desktop using UAC Trust Shortcut thanks, Maarten Maarten Boelens ([m][a:][R][t][ʏ][n]) Developer of SimLauncherX
February 7, 201511 yr Author Hi Maarten thx for the link, didn't know that tool. If an often used trusted program needs admin-rights i use a scheduled task. I didn't realize that SLX needs the elevated rights for FTX because i added fixes for FTX and other programs so nearly everything on my machine runs with normal user rights. You are right, your way is the most comfortable solution for the most users. thanks, Walter
