May 30, 200521 yr I seem to have lost my default FS2004 KIFP (Laughlin/Bullhead City Int'l) airport. I was in the process of making one when I was told there was a default airport already there. At least now I know something about airport design with AFCAD! Can someone please tell me the filename and the AFCAD name for the airport in their installation? If anyone knows the location on the installation disks I would appreciate it. Then I can restore what I seem to have lost. Thanks, regards, Bob.
May 30, 200521 yr Not sure what your claim is here, Bob. If when using Afcad, you believe you've over-written or otherwise caused the default KIFP to disappear, such would not be the case. Afcad doesn't do that. Afcad merely makes a file called AF2_XXXX.bgl, where "XXXX" is the IAOC code for the original airport. And further, Afcad puts this file in whichever folder you designate; I think default Afcad setting is Addon Scenery / Scenery Folder. Since this folder is of higher priority than the default, or original airport's folder, it will supercede, or over-ride if you will, the appearance of the default airport. Removal of the Afcad generated file should restore the appearance of the default airport; you just have to 'find' it.
May 30, 200521 yr Author Hi. Thanks. Somehow I lost the AP917190.bgl which is in the NAMW folder. I had no KIFP. I don't know how I lost it. I restored it from my disks and all is well. What makes me proud is that after I found out I had no KIFP I made one with AFCAD221. Much to my amazement it looked close to the default one. I spent about a week making it and learning AFCAD. I even had AI landings/takeoffs at my KIFP. All is restored now and I think I'll make some of my mods on the default one. The default one has autogen hotels on the wrong side of the river. I'm not sure how to move them, or if it is possible. Regards, Bob.
May 30, 200521 yr Glad you found the problem! Removing autogen, or any default 3d objects requires a tool. And other tools are needed to place or insert your own objects. I suggest you visit the Scenery Design Forum for hints and discussion rather than in this forum.
