Using AFCAD2 in 2004 I can get all my AI to goto the correct gate by airline codes but no matter what I do my plane is always instructed to taxi to the first available open gate in the priorty its listed in the AFCAD file.Please help me because its got me going crazy trying to figure out what I've done wrong.Kilstorm

I just found this small sentence in the AFCAD help file"Note that parking codes are used for AI only and FS will not use codes to designate parking for user aircraft"All I fly is GA planes in the sim and I finally decided to try a commercial flight and thought that AFCAD would direct me to the proper gate.So ow do you guys do it so that ATC directs you to the proper gate or terminal if ATC wont reconize the parking code?Kilstorm

I just go to a properly assigned gat on my own. I do the same when flying. I use ATC for clearance to takoff and land but use real world flightplans and DP and Stars as listed on FBOweb. The ATC isnt perfect so I have to do it my way.

As Andrew says, it's not perfect and you'll have to make some compromises.Have you tried placing the airline code in the aircraft.cfg file of the aircraft you are flying along with the proper parking type and radius?

As suggested by someone on this forum, I used the "Tools" menu in AFCAD2 to reduce the radius of my plane to a number smaller than any AI plane of similar size. Next I set the size of the gate that I wished to use to equal my reduced radius. ATC will never send a plane to a gate that is smaller than the plane's radius, so no AI planes park at MY gate an its always available for me. R-

Thanks for the ideas. I was going crazy trying to figure out what I had done to not be able to get assigned to the right gate when I read that it wasnt an avialable feature and only for AI. The radius idea probably would work the best but since I'm flying a 402 at smaller fields I'm just going act like TWR clears me to the gate and to monitor GND. Kilstorm
