Question before purchase

Recommended Posts

So I've been tempted to buy the 777 for P3D for a while now, but there's always one question on my mind: will I get decent performance on my system when I fly it? I'd be looking for a minimum of ~20 FPS.

Would anyone be able to guess, based on my system specs, how well the 777 would perform on my system?

I'll post my system specs below. Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated.

Windows 7 64-bit

Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.4 GHz

8GB DDR3 RAM

2TB HDD

120GB Kingston SSD

Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD7870 2GB GPU

It really depends on what settings you run in P3D, keeping in mind P3D settings do not translate to FSX settings. I don't think you would have to much issues so long as you dont push really high levels of AA, transparency AA, heaps of Autogen, reflections, shadows etc.

The key point really is that nobody can say for certain. It's all about you tweaking your system and settings to get max performance. Do you have the MJC8 Q400 in P3D? A lot of people use that as a performance benchmark. If you can get around 30-40FPS, then you should get 20FPS in 777.
