Global Lighting in P3D

Recommended Posts

I have been told that I can reduce the overall global lighting in P3D (or FSX for that matter) by adding a "Day_Threshold=" statement in the Prepar3d.cfg file, and giving it a value of less than 32768. However, this does not seem to work on my PC. Can someone help me out, or is this actually not possible? What I want is to limit the brightness when the Sun is high in the sky. Please don't ask why. I have my reasons

I get the feeling that this statement doesn't affect the global light levels at all. What it seems to do is determine when the building/airport/runway lights turn on and off. If that is the case, can anyone tell me if there is a way to reduce the brightness of the global lighting when the Sun is high in the sky?

Have a look in the P3D Tips and Tricks forum. There are a couple of threads there revolving around the HDR effects, and overall brightness of P3D.

cheers, Jazz
