Afri.cab

Featured Replies

Good afternoon everybody,

I have a problem with disc 4 of my FS9. It scratched a lot, so i can not extract the file afri.cab. Because of that, my Flight Simulator crashes every time I wont to fly over Africa  :( .

Can anyone please send me the file to [email protected]

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your reply.

I've read in another forum that somebody sent some files via mail. Are you sure that this isn't possible?

Hi.

It is possible, but it's also an offence (copyright, as mentioned above).

Your best bet is to try repairing the disk with soemthing like this:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/professional-cddvdblu-ray-scratch-repairer-a19jl

That's from the UK, but there are dozens of different kits available around the world and something like this will be cheaper than buying a replacement disk.

You could also try Rainex or a similar windscreen treatment. It gives a silicone polish to glass and most plastics (so fills small scratches and prevents them interfering with the DVD drive's laser). I've had a fair amount of success with it on CDs, DVDs and reducing glare from spectacles. Whichever product you go for, just be sure before buying it that it's safe for plastics and not just for glass.

Thank you for your suggestions Dave!

I think I will try something like that. For now, I disabled africa at the scenery.cfg, so my fs9 doens't crashes anymore but I dont have any airports in africa.
