Validating Licence

Featured Replies

I am starting from a new system install.

Downloaded F1 purchase wrappers opusfsx and opusfsi upgrade.

Opusfsx installs and validates perfectly, however opusfsi does not.

From the wrapper I select re-install as usual, browse for key, KEY ACCEPTED.

Then I run the opisFSI.msi to install to default location.

When I open the installed upgrade and FSISERVER it never validates licence.

The fsiserver log file:

Have you purchased the OpusFSI upgrade? If so have you reactivated the OpusFSI licence?

Have you got both the OpusFSX and OpusFSI upgrade licence files in the Opus Software folder?

Just check you have valid and active OpusFSX.lic and OpusFSIUpgrade.lic files in your c:\Opus Software folder.

Hi Stephen

Yes, I purchased the upgrade Sept 2014.

Yes, I did try key reactivation. F1 sent me a link via email. However I am assuming this just reactivates my key as nothing downloaded.

I also re-downloaded another key file which didn't work.

Both the OpusFSX and the OpusFSI upgrade licence files are in the Opus software folder.

I have tried many re installs, uninstalling from the control panel each time as well as removing the OpusFSI folder and it's remaining files.

Nothing seems to work. The log file continues to say invalid licence.  :-(

Cheers

No need to keep reinstalling. This is simply a licence validation issue. Both the OpusFSX and OpusFSIUpgrade licence files must be valid for your hardware and activated. The licence files must also be in c:\Opus Software folder.

You must use the relevant Purchase EXE file in each case to activate your licences. Treated as two separate activities with two separate Purchase exe wrapper files.

OpusFSX uses the OpusFSX_Flight1_Purchase.exe file for reactivation.

OpusFSI Upgrade uses the OpusFSI_Upgrade_Purchase.exe file for reactivation (NOT the OpusFSI_Flight1_Purchase.exe file). Have you downloaded the correct wrapper file?

If OpusFSX validates and stays UNLIMITED after connecting to the sim then it's licence is OK.

In which case your OpusFSIUpgrade.lic file is in error. Many people have reactivated their OpusFSX and OpusFSI Upgrade licences so there is nothing wrong with the procedure. Make sure you are using the correct OpusFSI wrapper EXE file, you need the Upgrade one, not the full licence one.

Have you downloaded the correct wrapper file?

Yes,  OpusFSX_Flight1_Purchase.exe  and  OpusFSI_Upgrade_Purchase.exe .

OpusFSX works fine, it's the upgrade I can't get to activate.

The upgrade purchase wrapper validates the key and places the OpusFSI.msi and the OpusFSIUpgrade.lic files in the C:\Opus Software folder. I then install to default location.

I'm really baffled as OpusFSI  was all working before my fresh clean OS install.

All other programs and Flight sims work fine.

Open to your suggestions.

Check all the normal Getting Started Guide instructions.

Have you installed only on one drive, installed in its own root folder etc..

Have you set permissions and sharing so that files can be accesses?

Stephen

What does your FSISERVER.log say now?

Is your OpusFSIUpgrade.lic file up to date or has it been write protected and hence is still your old file.

After trying everything imaginable several times, I decided to revert back to Windows 8.1

OpusFSI activation worked as it should !!   :-)

No way of knowing for sure, of coarse, did Windows 10 become a barrier ?

To bad, as 10 was very good despite being a build that is still a moving target.

OpusFSI was the first program I found related to flightsimming to possibly be affected.

Two other insignificant non related programs as well.

Thanks Steve, most likely either a file location problem (as the lic file is also installed in the Windows folder, or sub folder), or a file access or permissions problem.

Do you have copies of your licence file(s) in a c:\Opus Software folder. That's where our software looks for them. Flight1 will also check the Windows folder for the lic file.

We will be getting a Windows 10 system some time this year so will be able to offer a definitive answer.
