777-200 Mach .1029 bug?

Again, I agree that it's technically an issue, but if you're breaking Mach 1 in a 777, you have more important issues to contend with than the Mach display...like...you know...airframe failure.

It should be easy to identify cause now the numeric error in the Mach display has been noticed. It's one of those things that could be addressed in passing at the next update. There may be other numeric errors around that might have more impact on the simulation too.

 

Worrying about whether the 777 would disintegrate or not is pointless. This is FSX not real life. If transonic drag increase was modelled in the FDE then the sim might not have exceeded Mach 1 anyway. But the real aircraft certainly should survive reaching dive speed and, I would hope, exceeding it with a safety margin.

 

Mach tuck is another issue but aft loaded supercritical aerofoils behave differently and the 777 FBW would help trim it out.
