February 28, 201511 yr Posted this over on the VATSIM forums, but thought I would post here as well. I decided the other day to fly from HECA to OTHH. Everytime I tried to load up at HECA Default my FS2004 would freeze at 6% while loading the textures. Looking at event viewer logs it says the faulting application is fs9.exe and ntdll.dll is the faulting module. It's not just at HECA. Any airfield in Africa and Madagascar produce this same freeze at anywhere between 6% and 8% of the texture loading process. I could not load in Tel Aviv either without the freeze. Western Saudi also produced a freeze. Tenerife did not and neither did Gibraltar. I tried flying from Gibraltar to the nearedt African field GMNT in Morocco. Flight went perfectly. Once I landed I shutdown the aircraft (default Cessna) and then using the World Tab for FS9 I selected "Go to Airport" and chose HECA. It worked, so I flew the HECA to OTHH flight. Tried renaming the FS9.cfg file and letting FS9 rebuild it. Same result when trying to load at HECA. deleted the Scenery.dat file in the FS9/Scenery/AFRI folder and let FS9 rebuild the index file. No change. Compared (and copied over) the cab file from FS9 disk 4 and the one in sim. Same result. I can fly into Africa and then "go to airport" anywhere in Africa, but I cannot load up at any African airport. Starting all my Africa flights with a Gibraltar to GMNT flight is going to get old quickly. Any ideas? Randy Randy Tyndall You never lose the buzz of flying. Every time you take off, it feels a bit naughty, as if you're doing something you shouldn't do...Matt Jones, Boultbee Flight Academy
