FE and/or ASV?

Featured Replies

I have both, and I assume others already have more experience with the two packages, so:Should I use F1's Flight Environment together with Active Sky V, or would it be better to de-install it 'cause it has no advantages over ASV?Andreas

I am curious, I love the look of AS 4.5 and FE. Have you noticed a significant difference when siwtching to AS 5.0?

Hi,Use them together. FE has water and as for the clouds... well using both you have more choice. What I do is choose my water from FE, submit the textures to FS, then let ASV choose my clouds using it's intellegent cloud selection (ICS) feature.I also love the new dawn/dusk textures we get within ASV.Cheers,Paul

That's right Paul and the way to use both products. In a few weeks we hopt to be able to implement ICS cloud selction also with Flight Environment thanks to Damian and Chris. To the other poster considering un-install, no need and not much point really, one you loose the water and two you loose a few cloud options and the more the better really. FE clouds are not the same as ASV clouds and each type have their plus and minus points. Nothing is evey perfect and once in a while one type will look better than the other. It's really a good idea to test the looks at different altitudes and in different situtions as well as real weather before forming a definitive decision.Peter
