I downloaded a livery from PMDG 737 (a .exe), but can't get it install in prepar3d no matter where I point it.  Are they just for FSX?

We don't make .exe installers anymore. Only .ptp. You'd have to contact whoever made the livery for a P3D version. If you're sure it's from us, then you likely picked up an installer for the old FS9 version.
