March 31, 201511 yr Hey everyone. Within the next few months I will be purchasing parts to build a new Flight Sim PC. I want my build to run fsx and payware addons well, but I'm not expecting constant 30 fps in dense areas with FSX and or P3D completely maxed out. I also cannot spend more than $1000 on the parts, preferably in the $900-950 range. Here is what I have so far: -Intel i7 4790k -Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO -MSI PC Mate Z97 (I chose a cheaper board because I most likely will not OC for the time being) -Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB -GeForce GTX 960 2GB -Corsair CX750 Any advice about what to improve or performance I can expect from these specs would be appreciated. Thanks! Mark
April 3, 201511 yr If you're not overclocking on this M/B then perhaps consider an H97. What made you go for the budget MSI offering? Nevertheless I feel that for a build of up to $1000 (around £650 on this side of the pond!) you should have an overclockable system, so looking to the future I'd consider a better quality PSU for overclocking, something like a Seasonic S12G-750: http://www.seasonic.com/pdf/datashee...0%28FDB%29.pdf Regards, Django EGLL. | BMS | DCS OB | A-10C II | AV-8B | F-16C | F/A-18C | FC3 | Persian Gulf | Supercarrier | Tacview | XP11 | FF A320 | FF 757 | | I7-9700K + NH-D15 | RTX3080Ti 12GB | DDR4-3200 16GB | Aorus Z390 Ultra | 2X Evo 860 1TB | 850W | Torrent Case | | Warthog HOTAS + CH Pedals | 32" TV 1080p 60Hz | TrackIR5 |
