FSX Menus running slowly...
Hello everyone. I am experiencing a rather peculiar issue with FSX. Just for some background, I have the regular box version, SP1 and SP2 installed. My PC Specs are as follows: i7 4790k @ stock GTX 960SC 8GB DDR3 FSX is installed on a 1TB WD Blue I just built this PC in May, and have been slowly installing my addons, and purchasing new ones since that time. About a month ago I would say, I began experiencing an issue where during a flight, If I want to access a setting via the menu bar, once clicked, the menu selected will take 2-3 minutes to load. After that, once a button is selected, another 1-2 minutes for the task to be completed. I dealt with it for a while, but couldn't take it anymore. I uninstalled FSX completely thinking that it may be an installation or corruption issue, or an issue with an addon I had installed. After I completed the re-installation of FSX, SP1, and SP2, I ran the program in windowed mode, with no addons, and voila it was fixed. BUT, the problem still persists in Fullscreen mode ONLY, and I prefer flying in that mode as frames are better. I don't know where to look next. I am using an FSX.CFG from Matt Davies, so I can try to test the issue with a default CFG and see if the problem is fixed. Thanks for any advice! Mark [EDIT] : I am NOT using Matt Davies CFG in this new install. It is default. I had forgotten that I never replaced the CFG.

New Flight Sim PC Build
Hey everyone. Within the next few months I will be purchasing parts to build a new Flight Sim PC. I want my build to run fsx and payware addons well, but I'm not expecting constant 30 fps in dense areas with FSX and or P3D completely maxed out. I also cannot spend more than $1000 on the parts, preferably in the $900-950 range. Here is what I have so far: -Intel i7 4790k -Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO -MSI PC Mate Z97 (I chose a cheaper board because I most likely will not OC for the time being) -Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB -GeForce GTX 960 2GB -Corsair CX750 Any advice about what to improve or performance I can expect from these specs would be appreciated. Thanks! Mark

FSX/P3D System
higuys23 replied to higuys23's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcOkay. I'll switch to a 700-800w power supply and keep the 960 for now. Thanks for the reply.

FSX/P3D System
Hey everyone. Just wanted to run these specs by Avsim users and get some input on the performance I can get out of these specs. i will be running FSX and P3D with aircraft such as the PMDG 737/777 as well as sceneries such as ORBX and FlyTampa. This is the hardware I'm planning to purchase for this system: i7 4790k (I most likely won't OC for the time being) Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO GeForce Gtx 960 2GB 8 GB DDR3 and a Corsair 600W power supply to run it all. Will this system perform well? I'm ok with 25-30 fps even with FSX/P3D not 100% maxed out. I also am restrained on the budget, as this system would cost me under $900 at the moment and I wold like to not go far over that.
