Flying through clouds - performance?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Firstly, my system specs: Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.5ghz, GTX 960 2gb, 1TB HDD, Corsair Hydro Series H55 Liquid Cooler. All temps and everything run fine.

The FPS I get is great, usually 30-50fps, in heavy weather can drop to 26-30 if I'm in a heavy payware aircraft such as the NGX.

The problem I am having, is I can be flying with 40-50 fps, and as soon as I go through cloud, it drops to between 20-30, then once I'm at the cloud straight back up.

Using REX soft clouds, but at the lowest RES, with ASN for the weather.

I've tried deleting my shaders, but that doesn't seem to help.

Have Anti-aliasing set through nvidia at 4xSGSS, FXAA turned off in the sim and Anisotropic set to 8x.

Any way to stop this FPS drop in the clouds?

Many thanks,

Dan
