Help! - major FPS slowdown on finals!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, i'm having the most annoying FS experience ever! Everytime i come in to land (any aircraft, any airport) when i get within say 1 mile to half a mile out my frames drop drastically from 25+ to below 6 fps!!!! This happens everytime i land and obviously ruins the whole experience! it is only noticable out of the forward view, i.e when i look out over the wings or left/right etc it goes back to normal, so it is only happenning with the runway in view. This will happen with all sliders back to minimum so it can't be due to demanding scenery like autogen and airport buildings etc etc. I have no idea what could be causing this and i have tried resized runway textures but to no avail. My PC is no slouch either: P4 3.0 with hyper threading, 512RAM, and 128MB Radeon 9800 Can anybody shed some light on this matter? At the moment i just cannot land anywhere because of this very major problem. And as i cannot land, i'm sure you can all appreciate that i cannot therefore take off!!! :-violin Waiting anxiously for a reply....Cheers, Gareth.

Hi Gareth,Are you using a force feedback joystick? If so you might want to try a search . I seem to recall the force feedback can cause the behavior you are seeing. I think the solution is to disable the ff.Sorry I can't help more.
