Need Help with Majestic Dash8 Q300 cg position (FS9)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've had this bird for a few years, and not flown it for awhile. Decided to take it for a quick spin, and adjusted the load with paxloader utility before starting flight sim. The cg with the paxloader facility was dead center, but after starting flight sim and clicking on fuel and payload to adjust the fuel, I noticed that the cg position was way north of center (outside the limits). Adjusted the fuel and payload within flight sim, but the cg indicator seems to be stuck (not moving with any variations with the loading). Tried all sorts of loading configurations, but no luck. Can anyone shed any ideas regarding fixing the cg position, maybe somewhere in the aircraft cfg file perhaps. Obviously, the aircraft won't fly properly with the cg out of limits, so any help would be appreciated.

IIRC, the FS default CG indicator is linked to the aircraft model's reference datum position. I think this was intended to be at the center of gravity, but a lot of developers place it on the tip of the nose so that contact points, lights and smoke effects etc. can be positioned with greater ease. You can safely ignore it and trust the load manager/utility instead.
