FS9 Mystery - Sherlock Holmes where are you?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, Here's the mystery:Whenever I make any change in the "Create A Flight" screen, FS9 ALWAYS takes me to the same flight regardless of whatever changes I had made. The flight starts somewhere in Florida, USA and is ALLWAYS the same time of day, season and aircraft. If I start FS9 by going to the default flight, it does work properly and starts at the default flight. But, If I then go to the "Create A Flight" screen and make any change (aircraft, season, time, location etc.), it ALWAYS brings me to the mystery Florida flight with the same time, season and aircraft. Once I'm in the default flight, I can make any changes I want by pressing ALT and then using the menu at the top of the screen.Basically, the "Create A Flight" screen is useless to me at this time.Does anyone have any ideas?Any idea which file holds the information which is used by the "Create A Flight" screen to determine what to do?I tried starting FS9 with a "clean" FS9.cfg by deleting fs9.cfg and starting FS9, thereby letting it set up a "clean" FS9.cfg. It still goes to the mystery flight as I described above.Any help is appreciated. I don't care if it's Sherlock Holmes , Dr. Watson or whoever who has the answer - thanks in advance...............

Previous flight checked as `make default` by any chance..?Allcott

Thanks for the tip, Allcott.No. I didn't mark any flight as default. My default flight is the standard one in FS9. But, based on your idea I'm going to try to set another default flight to see what happens. Thanks,

Hi Dan,until Mr. S. Holmes shows up, I'll take a shot:I was able to recreate your problem, by write protecting the file, that contains the data, that is entered with the "Create A Flight" screen. When you create a flight, two files ("Von der Benutzeroberfl
