June 28, 200520 yr :-eek Hello, I purchased this about 3 weeks ago... Well I was not too happy with it so I un-installed it. Wish I could trade it in for something else... I hope it is a case of newbie jitters on this software. But Man isn't there anyway to alter the Aircraft Performance Profiles... I mean some of us fly planes other than 777... The plane list on this piece of software really is discouraging. Not to mention no terrain mapping on the map. I guess I bite into something I couldn't chew... I am really confused to why I paid so much for this. Once again please forgive me if I seem to come off wrong. Like I said may be a case of newbie jitters with this software and maybe someone can get me on the right path. Thanks,
June 28, 200520 yr there are some additional performance files on the website, like for the pmdg 600/700, and leveld 767, and it's program wich need a good documentation, but the help on the forum is very good. I have fsbuild 2.2 , not using very much, still flying the 737 pmdg, and that has short flightplans, however when 747 is out and there are good performance files then i will be using it more.rick
June 28, 200520 yr Rick, Thank Ya sir... But I usually use smaller GA aircrafts such as Twin turbo props etc...I don't understand why they at least didn't leave an option to where you could at least manually config it...But like I said I am still a little wet around the ears with this prgrm. Thanks Again,
June 28, 200520 yr Really wet around the ears. Did you read any of the documentation? Or try their support site?
June 28, 200520 yr >>> Rick,>> Thank Ya sir... But I usually use smaller GA>aircrafts such as Twin turbo props etc...>>I don't understand why they at least didn't leave an option to>where you could at least manually config it...>All the performance files (.prf) are plain text, you can edit them with a text editor. They are all configurable, and you can create your own if you like, and add them to the menu.Details on how to create your own performance profiles this are in the documentation files in the '/UserGuides' subfolder.Regards.Ernie.
June 28, 200520 yr I'll vouch for that...I made my own for the King Air B200 and have used them with some success. I haven't sent them to Ernie because they're a bit conservative, in that they overestimate the fuel consumption and climb rates by a good bit. I used the performance documents that came with the Aeroworx B200 and have verified that those are very accurate with respect to the sim and the real plane, but flying with real weather and real world procedures (such as keeping ITTs below 750) tends to reduce fuel consumption and climb rates. But, I can tell you that an evening of work on the .prf, assuming you have your airplane's performance data, will pay off in the long run.Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleischhttp://www.simulomundusrex.blogspot.com/ Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200
June 29, 200520 yr >Really wet around the ears. Did you read any of the>documentation? Or try their support site?> Yes Sir, I have skimmed through the *.PDF files that came with FSBuild but unless I skipped it. I have not scene anything mentioning the change of the aircraft configs in there. One thing that is really neat about the software I enjoy is the ATC info from VATSIM that is slick!!! Just wish there was a way of involving terrain in the map or elevation of certain areas for us trying to do a little of bush flying or humanitarian flights :)'Who knows maybe I am missing something or there will be a patch that will allow us to add aircrafts alot easier. I am pretty sure their is someone out there that knows how to manually do it. But I am not the one (LOL)... Until the knowledge comes my direction. Thanks Folks,
June 29, 200520 yr Rgr, So you actually manually configured that into the FSBUILD? Is there a website that explains how to do that or some knowledge I can que up to try that myself? Thanks,
June 29, 200520 yr >So you actually manually configured that into the FSBUILD?Not only him, other have as well.See the web page on the fsbuild website that contains performance profiles submitted by other users.http://www.fsbuild.com/aircraft_performance.html>Is there a website that explains how to do that or some knowledge I >can que up to try that myself? It is in the documentation...In the '/UserGuide/Data Files 2.pdf' document...Pages 7-10 describe the basic performance info (fsb_aircraft.cfg file)Pages 17-21 describe the (optional) more detailed performance info ([aircraft[.prf / [aircraft].tld).Regards.Ernie.
June 29, 200520 yr Ernie, Thanks I appreciate it... I will check out them pdf's and play around... Thanks For The Knowledge,
