Performance degradation when sound is on

Recently I have noticed that when my sound is on during flights, FPS has dropped 3-4 fps compared to when sound is set to off. This only happens when P3D has been started from within a 3rd party application. After P3D has been launched from within this application, I have shut down this program and as far as I can see (using ProcessExplorer) this program (process) has been cleared from memory as well. Do any of you have an idea why this may happen and how to resolve this? Fyi, I solely use PMDG's 737s and the 3rd party program is SImLauncher.
