IVAO Model Matching Rule Set Removed from Vatsim (vPilot)

Featured Replies

Hello all,

So I've just heard today that apparently the IVAO model matching rule set has been removed from the vPilot client and Vatsim altogether because "IVAO wants their model set to be used only when flying on IVAO."  Source

Has anyone got any ideas for alternatives etc?

Thanks.

I will say, as he states, they can't stop you using it if you continue you to do so. So if you want to, you can carry on using it. That's you're choice. You can still install it in vPilot, what he means is that you can't get the files from him.

He is right in that it is against their wishes, but I will say they can't stop you. In the end that's your choice.

Alternatives is World of AI, if you don't want to pay out for Mr Traffic and such like. There are quite a few downloads though...

You are violating the copyright of the creators of the models. IVAO has received explicit permission of the creators to use their models/paints for use on the IVAO Network. That is also clearly stated when installing the MTL Library and that has to be agreed on when clickig I accept.
