FMS & ARPT w/ no inst. APP.

Hello:

Today I was flying to FQQL landing RWY 36.  RWY 36 does not have an instrument approach and there are no STARs for the ARPT.

After I attempt to enter FQQL as the arrival airport in the FMS on the menu page and select RWY 36, I select both “FPL” &/or “enter”.  However, the FMS does not seem recognize the ARPT or the RWY unless there is an associated instrument approach or STAR.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, from inside the airplane, is there a way to switch between QNH and inches on the altimeter?
