The ATIS gets crazy...

Featured Replies

Hi!After installing some addon airports, for instance Rome (LIRF) and Vienna (LOWW) the ATIS seems to add several fictional runways. At LIRF there only exist 3 runways. But according to the ATIS also visual 17, visual 18, visual 19, visual 20 and so on, are listed up. There must be a bug somewhere, but I haven`t found it. The AFCAD looks ok to me. No extra runways there. Anyone who knows why this happens? Could it be fixed?

It is not a bug. FS9 is doing exactly what it is instructed to do and say. You have downloaded AFCAD's that have additional fake runways (for that airport) added so all FS9 default runways are active at the same time.If this is not what you want than open the runway list with AFCAD and delete the fake runways from the list. Save and close AFCAD.hope this helps

Thanks! It helped! Lots of runways were deleted! But I wonder how on earth they came there in the first place!!Regards,Jan Ove

Thanks. I'd noticed the same problem too at ISD's LIRF. I just gave up tuning ATIS, lol.

Well the extra runways are added toensure that AI use real life rwy allocations in varying winds.Because of the limitations of the AI's ability to use crossing Rwy's for instance fictional rwy's are added to make the AI perform the way aircraft doin the real world. The only way to do it i understand is to add these fake rwy's in the afcad.Yes you can del;ete them but no your airport will not operate like the real world one does with crossing arrivals/dep's.HTHDarren

it's a small price to pay for more realistic AI procedures
