FSX SDX help

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. I'm sure many have asked this question, but I didn't want to look at the several problems several had that may come my way, and I don't want to confuse myself anymore than I already am. I have fsx gold edition, with the two deluxe disks and acceleration disk installed. I'm assuming this means I already have all my service packs. Now, the point. I'm not asking how to install SDK, I already know. But there is something wrong with the first step. It says to insert your disk, go to your files and open the SDK folder. I do that, but while there should be the SDK installer inside the folder, my folder is empty. There is nothing inside it. Do you know where it may have went? Sounds like a newb question, but any help appreciated, thanks!

Have you gone through all of these steps?

FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack users

To install the SDK for FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack:

  1. Install the RTM SDK from FSX Deluxe Edition disk 1, (see 3.1.1 FSX Deluxe RTM users instructions above).
  2. Insert your Acceleration Pack DVD.
  3. Browse to the subfolder called SDK\SP1a\
  4. Install the SDK SP1A from there using fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe, (dated 26/09/2007, size 165,569KB).
  5. Browse to the folder called SDK\
  6. Install the Acceleration SP2/XPack SDK using sdk.msi, (dated 06/10/2007, size 216,929KB).

No, I've seen those steps. Those were the steps I was following, and they seemed easy enough, but that FIRST question that's stumping me. It says as follows:

  1. Install the RTM SDK from FSX Deluxe Edition disk 1, (see 3.1.1 FSX Deluxe RTM users instructions above). So I must first look at the RTM SDK installation which says to do this:
  2. FSX must not be running.
  3. Browse the FSX Deluxe Edition disk 1
  4. Open the SDK sub-folder
  5. Double-click the setup.exe
  6. Tell it where to install

So I make sure fsx isn't running, insert Deluxe Edition disk 1, browse (I'm assuming this means to click browse after the disk is inserted) and now were at step 4, which says open the SDK sub-folder. I open it up, but there is nothing in there. This is why I started the topic. There should be a setup.exe in the folder, but there's nothing in there. Thanks for the response though. Hopefully we can get this all sorted out!

Maybe something in this thread from the Simouthouse will help in your installation process.
