July 28, 200520 yr Hi there. I was just wondering in FS2004, is there any way of requesting to ATC to land on a runway that YOU want? I know its all to do with what runways are active at the time but for Sydney, for example, I'd love to land going through the city with the harbour to my left on the 16R approach. All that seems to be offered it the 34L on the opposite end!!! Any ideas?
July 28, 200520 yr Commercial Member I think you can usually choose a different runway as long as it's an active runway, i.e. you could probably have your choice of 34L or 34R. There's an option on the ATC window to "select a different runway for landing" normally just after they tell you to "expect vectors for rwy..."If you want 16R, go into your weather dialog and change the wind direction so it's 150-170° at 3 kts or so.Jim
July 28, 200520 yr Get hold of AFCAD2 from the library here at avsim and you can make the runway you want active and close the other end, thereby forcing ATC to allow you to land on the runway you want.
