The 777 and Throttle configuration modes...

Recommended Posts

I have finally set my 777 in a throttle intervention mode that suits me the best - NEVER allow for manual thrust.

This avoids any misplacement of the throttle axis in my controller, saves me from a few surprises, and it can still be override if you use your F1 / F2 / F3 / F4 keys, or use a fancy controller programming script to assign these key presses to buttons.

In Hold mode, during takeoff, for instance, if I need to abort before V1, I simply press F2, or F1 in a hurry :-).   During a stormy approach, if I want to momentarily override the A/T settings, I use F2 or F3, or in the limit, F4...

I had never explored this mode, but it's the one I am keeping, for sure !
