August 7, 200520 yr I have had UT Alaska Canada for quite awhile and like it alot. When I fly out of the Misty Fjords scenery, sometimes it is hard to tell were Misty Fjords ends and UT begins. I have held off on getting the USA version, because I have a few scenery add-ons like the FS Freeflow Flordia scenery , and I was afraid I might get some conflicts. Well yesterday I decided to bite the bullet, and get the FS Genesis 38 mesh for the entire US and the Ultimate Terrain US along with a couple of patches for UT. I flew around on Vatsim all day yesterday after getting everything installed and have been at it again since early this morning. This scenery is Great!!!!Cities that look like cities, roads, railroads, highways, interchanges, I even found the road that goes by my house in the Atlanta suburbs.... They have parks and golf courses, and everything you would expect to see flying around. And the topper is that the frame rates are excellent. The mesh enhances the hills and things like Stone Mountain in Atlanta and just brings the entire look to the terrain. Well worth every penny, this is a fantastic addition to FS9..... :)
August 7, 200520 yr It does make a huge difference in the appearance of Flight Simulator. And it works fine with FREEFlow Florida if you use Scott's v1.3 alpha file on their site. I also use FSGenesis Landclass with the UT "sandwich" patch. In addition, I'm using the American Data railroad bridges and highway bridges. They line up pretty well with the UT railroads and highways.Jim
August 7, 200520 yr Has there been a change? As I understood, the AD bridges do not turn on unless you are using the AD Roads. Do they now work without AD Roads being on? Is there a patch I am missing? Thanks,Thomas
August 7, 200520 yr Works for me. I bought the version that just had railroads, streams, and utilities, since I already had USA Roads at the time. That's why the checkboxes for roads are grayed out. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124096.jpgJim
August 8, 200520 yr Yup, Ultimate Terrain is in my opinion one of the most important scenery developments ever released for Flight Simulator.Tony
August 8, 200520 yr What is that pic on their site showing "near Wichita,ks"?? Here's what it really looks like from a autumn shot on GOOGLE,no where near that picture on the UT site--or were they showing a before and after shot??Davidhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/wic...stofwichita.jpg
August 8, 200520 yr Author Not sure where the pic on the site was taken, but the roads in the USA line up nearly identically to those found in the real world. You can, in most cases, find the street you live on in very convincing detail. The only thing missing is your house! Railroads are also included and will depict rail yards where applicable. The coastlines have been revamped and fit seemlessly into the terrain. It's a very convincing add-on and well worth the asking price and then some.
