August 7, 200520 yr I recently reformatted my HD. When reinstalling FS2004, It siad that the file Sydney.CAB couldnt not be copied or it was in use or something like that. Is there a way I can contact Microsoft to ask them to send me another copy Free of charge? This copy of FS I have came in the metal box. I just need another copy ASAP, and I can't blow 500 Hong Kong Dollars on another copy. As a reviewer for AVSIM I'm running on a very tight schedule so any help will be appreciated. Thanks,Tim Brown
August 7, 200520 yr What, exactly, does the error say? Is it repeatable? The only way I know to get a replacement disc is to call Microsoft Customer Service at (800) 426-9400 (or the equivalent in-country number if you're outside the United States). But sometimes something as simple as cleaning the disc and/or rebooting the computer will clear the problem.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 8, 200520 yr Very good points Doug. Also, Tim, try using another CD drive to install from if you have one. I cursed about a dozen discs before finding my drive was slowly biting the dust. Good luck!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
