Gliding in FS2004

Featured Replies

Hi all,This is my first post here, and i really enjoy this website as it contains alot of different planes and programs to make FS2004 the most realistic experience ever, ALL FOR FREE!!!! :):). Anyway, back to business. I love flying planes, on the computer. Im 16 and so far i have no hours in a plane, im training on a simulator, to do a better job when it comes to te real thing hopefully after summer. Anyway, i really enjoy gliding, however i have never tried it and i am not willing to pay 60 euros for a professional gliding program, however i am really considering it. I just want to try gliding in FS2004 before i get the program. I just want to know, or perhaps see a list of great gliders available on this site to use in FS2004, along with certain programs to make your own thermals or anythign else that tranforms FS2004 into a powerful gliding machine. I will appreciate anyone who can help me and appreciate any replies. Thanks alot,Michal

SO far i amde a list of websites of my own:www.fsglider.de-- some great gliders-- good links--there is a program called cross country soaring 2004, which randomely generates thermals across the world. So far, not much to make this a good glider sim, and other recommendations, and by the way http://www.fszwever.com/ isnt too good.MP

MichalTHE site you need is http://www.virtualsoaring.orgUnfortunately your timing is bad - they are rebuilding the site after months of some ISP difficulties - bear with it, you will have access to lots of fs soaring/gliding expertise. It took a while (greater than 12 months for peaople to cope with the changes in fs2k2 to fs9 flight models, so there are only one or two great fs9 sailplane/gliders .A couple of months ago Eric Carden updated his Cross-Country Soaring 2004 program "ccs2004.exe" to have 'SINK' for the first time in fs9, AGAIN unfortunately eric warned that as peak soaring time (summer) was coming up, he probably wouldn't be looking at the site for a little while.SO, things are getting there, visit the SOAR site and don't be put off by any APPARENT lack of activity with the WEB page :-)Ben
