September 1, 201510 yr Found this Article today over at the Guru... interesting.. whats everyones thoughts, i`m yet to update from a 7 series to a 9..... http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-wanted-oxide-dev-dx12-benchmark-to-disable-certain-settings.html
September 1, 201510 yr All something of a moot point when no flightsim currently supports DX12 in any way, shape or form. But it does reinforce the need to wait to install Win 10. I'm sure there are going to be a whole heap of hidden issues with the OS that have yet to reveal themselves. Drivers are not yet fully compliant and there are many reporting hardware issues. As for AMD crowing about the lack of async DX12, that's a bit rich when there architecture and hardware is some way behind Nvidia at this point.
September 1, 201510 yr Author Having read most of the 100+ pages of the report it seems AMD GPU`s are out performing Nvidia`s.. D3D12 brings the series 9 GPU`s to its knees where as the AMD`s are getting a 33% boost, we will see once Microsoft de bugs W10 and its game on.
September 1, 201510 yr I bet we won't in what will still be old DX-based architecture. Nvidia has ruled the roost for some considerable time - and perhaps more interesting AMD have not bothered to fix th issues that hold back their development with flight sim platforms. This may simply be a sign of architecture drift - AMD is ironing out some of its problems, while Nvidia and its far more concentrated release schedule for driver updates can't fix what isn't in the public arena yet. So we've got a fresh OS with under-developed hardware and driver support. It might be too soon to be recommending anything except 'wait and see' ! But this could be the start of the fightback if AMD can resolved the AA problems inherent in FSX/P3D and cloud presentation.
