Activating FSX using FSX BOXED KEY

Recommended Posts

I bought a boxed version of FSX Deluxe years ago. Since I don`t have a DVD drive on my new PC, can I save money of buying one and download the FSX trial and enter my FSX activation key or would it be not valid?

Thanks.

You really do not want to use the "Trial" version.  FSX-Steam Edititon will be available again for very little money.

I recently (2 weeks ago) re-installed my boxed FSX/Accel and it activated over the internet just fine. Charlie's point is very valid for several reasons, not the least of which is FSX-SE works better overall with Windows 8 and Windows 10. It has the added advantage of being part of Steam so you can have it installed on multiple computers if you wish.
