Windows 10 UTX Canada Version 1

Featured Replies

I am a recent adopter of Windows 10 64 bit (Prepar3D 2.5). I have installed aircraft, utilities, and some scenery. I created my own fake FSX routine to fool certain installers into thinking I was installing into FSX. So far so good, except 1 thing...

I want to try out UTX. Being from Canada, I would like to use UTX Canada, version 1. I realize that P3D is not officially supported, nor is any operating system newer than Vista; according to the Flight1 website. I wanted to get that out of the way before someone pointed that out to me :)

I downloaded the installer from Flight1. It came in two parts. a small exe and a much larger file with a .000 extension. They live, as required, in the same folder.

When I execute the exe, the process shows up in Task Manager. However, there is no visual evidence that I am being taken to the Flight1 purchase routine or any other phase of the installation. The good folks on the UTX forum suggest that with version 2 being close, there will be no more work on version 1. That seems to preclude an official fix.

I am wondering if anyone has successfully installed Canada version 1 in Windows 10. And if so...how?

Many thanks in advance...

Regards,

Graham Derreck
