  1. Unless it has changed, Opus cameras will not react to turbulence generated by any weather engine other than...Opus. I would be prepared to repurchase Opus just for the cameras. However they will not get my money as long as their software is so narrowly focused. I can see it from their point of view. However it doesn't work for me. Too bad.
  2. Stable sim platform with addon specifications, that will not allow poorly constructed addons to run. This will, at least, mitigate the "must be your system" cop out that many users have to endure whan seeking "support" for their purchases.
  3. Has anybody done any tests with FT CYYZ on and off, with other things equal? I have read that the Toronto area is a VAS vacuum at the best of times.
  4. Stephen, Here is the exe.xml you referenced in your last post: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>C:\FSX\steamapps\common\FSX\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> The following entry is in the middle of the document. It has to be the last entry: </SimBase.Document> Your exe.xml should look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>exe.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>C:\FSX\steamapps\common\FSX\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Entry in bold to help location
  5. Hi Stephan, 0 < 9. Has to be 10. Also try this entry in Simobject.cfg. This assumes 10 is the next sequentially available number. Also you csn set Required=False for this entry. UT2 is not default: [Entry.10] Title=UT2 Aircraft Path=C:\FSX\steamapps\common\FSX\Simobjects\UT2 Aircraft Required=False Active=True The single line entry you added, needs to be put into your FSX.cfg file. If FSX is installed on your machine, put it in the actual file. If not, add it into the fake/copy you created. Put it into the [Main] section. Again if, for any reason, there are any other Simobjects entries, they have to be consecutive.
  6. Well, let's see how this all shakes out. I personally don't care whose hardware executes the software. I'm a bit skeptical that AMD will catch up to Intel/Nvidia in the next iteration, but would be happy to be wrong. VR is still relatively young technology. When I have more than 1080 vertical pixels per eye, am untethered, have 360 degree obstacle avoidance and touch technology is miniaturized; I'll sell my vehicle to buy a headset (probably have to Having said that, I salute early adopters.
  7. Perhaps there's a reason Lockheed and Dovetail decided to build on existing platforms rather than build from the ground up.
  8. Well the proof will be in the pudding. Maybe resurrect this thread in March.
  9. Hey Jay, Could you point us at an explanation of the location specific settings? Thanks
  10. This won't help with MT6 and I am not advocating one package over another. Ultimate Traffic is being updated by the author. Don't know when it will be released, but I believe P3D compatibility is on the agenda.
  11. Retail copy of Windows can be moved to another machine (keyword is moved - cannot run concurrently on 2 or more machines), unlike OEM which is bound to its original machine.
  12. Perhaps you could check a few custom sites and get an assembled price with the same/similar components. I've never dealt with Jetline, but seems like you are paying a bunch for assembly. Perhaps the name Jetline is worth a hefty premium, but I doubt it. If it is software installation, there is a massive amount of information here and elsewhere to get up and running with just about any platform/addon. Also, in my experience, the majority of time is not installing; but testing, tweaking...testing, tweaking... Best of luck
  13. It's not so much an either/or choice. UTX competes primarily with Global Vector. Its landclass is limited to urban areas. I believe the landclass can be disabled in the scenery library if you wish to use Open LC.
  14. Perhaps you could add or provide links to screenshot(s) illustrating the issues
  15. Check the Q & A on the FSFX Packages web site here: https://fsfxpackages.com/en/blog/2016/10/03/q4-2016-update/ In that, it is mentioned that there will be TrackIR support. EDIT: One of these days I'll read the thread before commenting My apologies for missing the post near the beginning of the topic.

    TrackIR

Am eager to purchase this product. However, like others, I won't be relpacing EZDok until Chaseplane has TrackIR support.
  17. At the risk of becoming too repetitive, I look forward to the progress in UT2, which appears to be once again in development. I would be willing to pay a premium for a product that is easier on resources (my experience) and more configurable; provided it had updated scedules, accurate paints, flew over water and had a 787 I wonder if there are so few folks in this business cause maybe it ain't too easy balancing performance and realism; not to mention schedule maintenance. Perhaps this and the fact that unlike creating user aircraft and scenery; it is relatively easy to go to flyingcarpet and AIG and create an airline. Ergo, competition from potential customers. I for one don't relish the prospect of recreating the world's AI traffic. I do salute those that do so.
  18. Hey Ray, Maybe make separate post and maybe administrator pin it.
  19. You are right Dave. But what about websites like flyingcarpet75? They are great folks...yes, but they have just about every model and paint ever created available for download. What about Alpha India? They have schedules for every major airline and they give you links to download the models and paints. What if someone came along and said "here is a package of schedules, models and paints that will fill your airports and skies". And then what if they went on to acknowledge each schedule, model and paint creator? Essentially they would just be doing the work. If that is not OK, then basically we're saying "hey, use it all you like. But if someone else does the work (and gives it to you for free), they and I, are pirates". I've never been to one of the sites. If they sold advertising on their site and didn't get approval from the content creators, then I could see the conflict. By the way, I'm not challenging you. It is what it is. Whay don't the model, schedule and paint guys just charge a royalty for their product and let someone create a decent AI addon. Now I may have answered my own question (UT2). By the way, speaking of UT2, it appears it is once again being developed (from their forum). This would render my post moot as I would then have my first choice in AI up to date and I could completely disregard the model and paint wars. Cheers from a fellow Canuk.
  20. Thanks. It all comes out in the wash.
  21. Hey Martin, Maybe have a peek at this page and see if it helps: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-update/windows-7-update-solution-for-advanced-users/f39a65fa-9d10-42e7-9bc0-7f5096b36d0c?tm=1471614914888&auth=1
  22. Thanks Jay, I was referencing a post from theshyisthelimit. I had to take a hiatus from our pastime for awhile. I did find that if my traffic sliders were at zero in P3D, I had no airport traffic using UT2. When I get back up and running, I will be sure to double check my simobjects.cfg entry. Question: do you use only the 'Path' entry or also 'Required', 'Active', etc?
