FYI, new RealTek HD Audio drivers 6.0.1.7571 (Asus)

Featured Replies

Just a heads up RealTek have released new HD Audio drivers v6.0.1.7571 (9/9/2015) and they have solved a couple of audio issues I was having in P3D and in nVidia's ShadowPlay recordings (line-in/mic-in).

If you do use the line-in/mic-in I'd recommend you select "Separate all input jacks as independent input devices" to avoid ShadowPlay getting "confused" -- results in an "echo" when recording line-in.

This is a direct link, AVSIM might block this ... I did check for viruses but highly recommend anyone that downloads also do a virus check.

I don't believe these drivers are specific to Asus, but I'm using them with an Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard.  For Win7 to Win 10 64bit.

CAUTION: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Cheers, Rob.

I am about to counter your views here Rob but I have had massive issues with the new Realteck drivers with the Z170 / skylake boards (Maximus Ranger).

P3d and Ezdok, with the combination of stress tests, are completely flawed with this driver installed.

P3d would constantly freeze and was unrecoverable after windowin.

Ezdok would crash immediately and the mouse become unresponsive.

Stress tests would also cause the computer to be unresponsive.. Uninstalling the driver fixed all of the above immediately.

Hey Alex,

So what are you using for an Audio driver for that motherboard?  Assume you are running 64bit OS?

These are the RealTek drivers I found specific to your motherboard: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/audio/Realtek_Audio_Win7-81-10_V6017553.zip but they are essentially just a slightly earlier version of those I listed above.

Odd the ones I linked didn't work - Realtek drivers are unified ... but on inspection it does look like your motherboard has a variant codec.

Cheers, Rob.
