FSX Frames

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I am pleased to say that I will be (probably) getting the PMDG737NGX the only thing that stands in my way, frames. My specs are Intel [email protected], 3GB RAM, ATI Radeon 5670HD. Please note, all i want is a ballpark figure of how many frames i would be getting. I have had the Aerosoft A320/21 pack and get around 10-15 frames if that helps. Thanks in advance, Jeremy Freudenberg. (Also we can make this a little game to see who can get closeist to my frames)

I had a 3.4 GHz processor, got 8-10 FPS with everything turned down. It was definitely flyable, but you don't get all the bells and whistles. I had a deal come along and upgraded to 4+ GHz and get 15-30 with all the bells and whistles turned on.

Not sure how much impact the graphic have, I think the processor is the heavy hitter on the FPS.

Depends on what you want to get out of it. I was fine with the low frame rates, no AI traffic, graphics and that turned down because my eyes were for the most part in the cockpit and the thing still flew, and it was so much more fun learning how to fly the NGX vs the default plane. But if you like to look out the window, you might be disappointed.

But learning the NGX took me 200 hours plus to get up to speed, so depending on how much free time you have, just save your pennies and hope to upgrade down the road. You shouldn't be looking out the window too much while learning to fly this plane anyway.

DEFINATELY worth the money though, even with the performance kill. What are you getting on the default 737? I was getting over 30 fps with the default on my old system.

I may be wrong but although users talk about frame rates relating to performance.  I would say set frame rates to about 30 and do not worry too much if they start to go low as long as the performance keeps up
