October 8, 201510 yr Hello guys, as this is my first post here I want to thank you for the great work here. I already found a lot of solutions for my problems. But the one I have now is not described anywhere. Yesterday I decided to switch from v2.5 to v3. I was using v2.5 with PMDG 777, ASN, REX Overdrive HD (only for textures), MyTraffic 6 (and PFPX for Flightplanning). I did uninstall P3D and PMDG products first, then did a clean install of v3, installed PMDG 777 afterwards, then the -300 addon. Then I updated ASN to the v3 Beta. This all works like a charm and startup was ok. Then I installed My Traffic 6. I did it like this: http://www.avsim.com/topic/475704-prepar3d-v3-and-my-traffic-6/ The traffic is there, no problem. BUT: When I start P3D it does not "really" start. I see the load screen fo a short while, then it disappears and nothing happens. I see in task manager that P3d is there, with around 4-5% CPU usage, but nothing happens. So I kill it via task manager. I found out that when I rename the trafficaircraft.bgl back again and restart P3d it rebuilds the scenery and starts totally normal. But only one time. If I then exit P3d and start it again, it will not start up! I have then to rename the trafficaircraft.bgl again (or some other file in the folder) which triggers the rebuild of the scenery. After this P3d starts again normally. But only one time You see where this is leading. I have to rename one file everytime before starting up P3d. I just remembered that I set a hook to "Do not clean cache on exit" in the scenery settings. But I guess this has nothing to do with it, right? I also reverted the changes I made for MyTraffic, still same behaviour. So... I hope you can help me. This is the only issue which bugs me with v3 aside from the well known ATC menu not showing up in the PMDG 777. Best regards from EDDM, Stefan
October 9, 201510 yr Author Hi again, I guess I solved it. In P3D v2.5 I used to save a flight with the PMDG 777 in EDDM on a gate as my default flight. I did the same in v3, but this does not work! After I deleted the default flight from the prepar3d.cfg, it starts again! No problems at all. I used to do this to save the panel sizes of the CDUs and NDs. Now I changed them directly in the panel.cfg. All good Now I am waiting for the ATC bugfix. Even so the built-in ATC is pretty bad, I miss it Best regards, Stefan
