Motherboard 24hz?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm currently in the stage of researching a system for P3d V3, I'm looking into either a G-sync monitor or a 4k monitor (28'')

I've been looking into a Skylake 6700K, on an Asus ROG Z170 Maximus motherboard (or one similar), however on the website under the graphic section on the mobo it says;

''- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz

- Supports DisplayPort with max. resolution 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz''

Now, this leaves me confused, Am I correct in thinking that I either need a 4K/Gsync Monitor at 30hz, and use a DisplayPort?

I'm confused with the whole 30hz/60hz, and now the 24hz on the motherboard.

Could anyone shed any light on this for me please before I make a decision?

Thanks in advance

  Adam

6700k has a built in gfx. The outputs for it are on the motherboard. But you should/will be using a regular gfx card. So make sure the gfx card you're getting has the outputs you need.
