Graphics settings for day and night - hard edged night time lighting

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have been doing a bit of nigh time flying during the past week and night time graphics are not ideal.  In particular it's the scattering of the aircraft's  lights on the ground and in clouds in particular which is problematic.

Instead of an even scattering of light with soft blending of light shading, there are distinct hard edges of the different shades of light.  It is most prominent in clouds.  Additionally, if I look at the aircraft fuselage externally at night, there are hard edges of light shadowing running down the length of the fuselage.

I'm not sure which graphical setting to change in order to eliminate this but it is quite annoying.  I also hope I've explained the issue well enough.  Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot right now, but those who have experienced this will know what I mean.

I have a GTX 780 Strix card, so it is not a hardware issue.

thanks

erich

Nevermind.  I found the answer here.  I had raised this question in March
