Actually, yes. I've been aware of that version for years. But thanks for the reference anyway. I know you meant it in good faith and it was no slight on you. I just cannot stand developers that exploit gaps in the market by pumping out incomplete garbage at inflated prices.

Of course, I agree. And to be honest, it's very disappointing that Aerosoft has taken a 'that's good enough' approach to this project. Relatively speaking, it's behind the curve 100%. I just don't think people should be turned away from acquiring it due to 'bad textures' - because they are not 'that bad'. But they are also not on 2026 baseline expectations from a premium project at a premium price.

To be honest , the textures really are not that bad 'in the flesh' . I think some people are just overly OCD in certain contexts and cannot help but see (in glaring detail) something which doesn't fit a frame of reference they are used to.

Sorted. I planned FACT /AT98, but for some reason it was not liking that route and simply wasn't loading. I planned another route - much shorter (FACT/FAOR), and it loaded fine. Overall, I am much more impressed with this aircraft than i thought i would be. The textures are nowhere near as bad as they come across in Youtube videos. Cockpit textures are more than acceptable, even though they are not as high res as Fenix. I sincerely hope they do an A330. Completely different animal to fly with regards take-off and landing and extremely hard to slow down. That really takes some thinking through One major annoyance is no auto-step climb (yet). Hope we get that soon.

Has anyone has issues loading the flightplan and data via the FLT INIT function on the MCDU? I've setup Simbrief the EFB using my Simbrief ID. I can load the Simbrief flightplan from Simbrief into the EFB, but the MCDU isn't reading it.

Not so much interested in exaggerated engine sounds from the flightdeck. More specifically want to know how well the the sound files have been blended and spliced together through the thrust range As @micstatic mentioned, this element is also hugely immersive for me and a badly engineered sound set is easily a reason for me to leave something parked

I thought the wingflex elements could be adjusted with a slider? Also, no-one has mentioned anything about sounds yet. Are they convincing?

I'm not making comparisons with the A330 in particular. But they are not on par with the best available. They have the opportunity here to make the entire package one of 'the best' for the platform, but it seems the 'easy bit' will place them short of that benchmark. (leading edge , wing flex (elasticity) and cockpit textures.) Amateurs have done better

So the summary is...Aerosoft screwed up badly with their A330 - shocking decision to release it - but the visual model looked superb. So then a year later, they decide to reign things back by using ToLiss to do the heavy lifting on systems and FM's and then they (AS) screw up on the 'easiest' bit of all, which is the visual model. The wing flex on this thing is shocking relative to expectation - and most other high end products. The cockpit textures are sub-par. Honestly...

Is there anything else one needs to do other than install from the Orbx app to make these sounds work. I can see the XBAW777 folder in the Community folder, but just in the cockpit alone, am not hearing anything different. Button clicks are still silent - MSFS2024

Yes, and he said the update would probably be available by Tuesday, 14 October due to the lag time for Marketplace implementation. Content creators were given the update ahead of time.

African governments are generally too disorganised and very often don't have available data. Those that do, often demand unreasonable sums of money for the data. Much more readily available reference data is available in developed economies.

I don't think PMDG's profit is anything to worry about. Apart from the sales to the retail segment they have commercial contracts as well. Randazzo hasn't been running the longest surviving (and highly successful) development company in this space for no reason. With MSFS being reborn, they now also have scale - the likes of which they have never seen before - not to mention the Xbox platforms. No matter now frustrated you become with their methods, they deliver a super product time and time again
