Tuesday at 04:48 PM5 days Hi everyone,Like many of you, I often find myself sitting at the MSFS 2024 main menu with limited time, wondering where to fly next. I wanted a quick, lightweight way to choose a flight that guarantees a realistic block time between two high-quality, high-fidelity destinations without the guesswork. I recently lost my job, due to redundancies in the video game industry, and have some spare time on my hands, so I built a free, browser-based utility called the Dynamic Global Flight Dispatcher. It requires no installation, runs entirely online, and is 100% free. This is my way to give something back to the flight-sim community that has supported my hobby for the last twenty years. What it does:• Automatically matches your aircraft class to generate realistic 40–60 minute flight time fixed-wing flights (or 20-minute helicopter trips).• The core database is built around high-quality destinations, featuring the full Contrail and ORBX MSFS 2024 catalogues, Asobo hand-crafted airports, and a curated list of freeware sceneries.• The core database includes 41 high quality aircraft that you can use immediately, including the Citation Sovereign+.• Generates an airframe-specific job ticket and passenger/cargo manifest that automatically scales to stay safely under MTOW.• Automatically calculates cruise altitudes, incorporating a global mountain range safety matrix (Alps, Rockies, Andes, etc.) so you don't get dispatched into a granite wall.• One-Click SimBrief Dispatch: Fixed-wing flights generate a direct link to pre-fill your flight data straight into SimBrief.• Custom Callsigns are saved and populated automatically into the SimBrief dispatch for use with ATC add-ons like FSHud, BATC and SayIntentions.Fully Customisable (Bring Your Own Scenery)Because everyone's scenery library is unique, the database is completely expandable by you. If you have a favourite freeware or payware airport that isn't in the master database yet, you can add it directly via the Settings panel. It saves instantly to your browser's local storage, and you can export your custom additions as a .json backup file.It also supports adding your own custom airframes if your preferred aircraft is not in the default database.Where to get it:The project is open-source and hosted on GitHub. You can view the code or download the file to run locally here:👉 https://manicminer00.github.io/global-flight-dispatcher/I created this purely for my own enjoyment to take the friction out of flight planning, and I wanted to share it back with the community. If you give it a try, I’d love to hear your feedback or ideas for future utility features.Clear skies, TobyThis is dedicated to Michael Greenblatt and the good folks at Andras Meridian. I also learned from Michael on sitting up a PC to run flight sim to run efficiently and increased performance. It was a shame that we lost him. Good guy and very nice induvial. Also thanks to you for your contribution to this simming hobby. Tuesday at 06:18 PM5 days Nice idea, and I like that it is browser based. For short evening sessions I often spend too much of the available time choosing a route instead of flying it, so a 40-60 minute selector around decent airports is useful. The no-install part matters too, because small tools like this are much easier to actually use when they don't become another thing to maintain.

I do not see a download link, unless I just missed it.If you want to download the html you can, just right click the link and 'save as' but I recommend using the tool via the link in your web browser to ensure that you always have access the the most up-to-date database of aircraft and airports. If you choose to add your own airports or aircraft, then you can create a backup of your custom database, before you clear your browser cache, if you do that sort of thing. Tuesday at 09:55 PM4 days This look intuitive with a great UI and useful, usage-oriented features.I shall most certainly be giving it a try and thank you for your expertise and generosity in developing and sharing this with the community!Job redundancies that I have experienced over the years have often resulted in those "best thing that ever happened to me" outcomes. It may not have felt like it at the time (financial pressures, change of identity, etc) but in time, things didn't just return to the status quo, they improved, career-wise.In 2010 I was suddenly made redundant from a job I'd had for 20 years as a Project Manager in the insurance industry in the UK. I used the opportunity (and redundancy payment) to fund a life-long dream of mine - to retrain as a school teacher. I did a 3 year degree (becoming a student at 40!) and a 1 year post-graduate teacher training. I've now been a school teacher for 12 years and I absolutely love my job. I'd put it off as a pipe dream for many years. ("How can I leave a well-paid job to train as a teacher?!). The sudden redundancy was both the catalyst and the funding provider for achieving a life-long dream. 😎Sorry for the O/T!
