As I recall the Mi-8 was also equipped with a basic navigation system, something in-between an ADF and a VOR. Of course it was then retro-fitted. As to me, yeah I'll use it for short 30 min VFR like visiting my airports or the city. Unusual indeed to enjoy ILS approach in helos, but that's okay 😉

June has arrived and the dev website says "Compatibility for FS2024... Coming soon in June" 👍 I'm very excited by this chopper because I have not piloted a helicopter in FS since the days of FSX (Dodosim), and also because it reminds me of fond souvenirs of campaigns with the DCS Mi-8. One cool thing is the option to have english markings and labels in the cockpit. I was on the verge to grab the MBB BO 105 by STRATOWARE but finally refrained because the GPS and GTN 750 cannot be removed and I'm a fan of analog gauges only. And finally I love this livery. That's many reasons!

Just in a couple of words to ensure that my understanding is correct: Photogrammetry or PG is a special technique of taking 2D photos that look like 3D in the simulator when seen from above a given altitude?

Thank you everyone. My questions has been answered. 👍 So I made the decisions to get KBOS by FlyTampa. For the european airport, I will take a time to think about it.

Since the beginning of this thread I'm better aware of the motivations of folks who enjoy details inside the building. Sure I get your point regarding the "off" button, I think we need a balance otherwise, after the bedrooms, devs will end up modelizing the flush of the toilets as said by a mate earlier. For me personally the right balance is to represent and populate the boarding gate of an airport, no more.

I need 2 sceneries to fly over the pond. EUROPE: I was thinking about ini EGLL (2024 native) or FlyTampa EHAM (2020 version, not optimized yet for 2024). Unfortunately LFPG is in the making by PESIM and not available yet. USA: It would be KIAD (2020) or FlyTampa KBOS (2024 native). Because I don't like so much KJFK. I'd like fps-friendly... Please see my rig in my signature... Also I was wondering: if I get a 2020 scenery, will it work in 2024?
