Traffic % Setting

Featured Replies

How does the % traffic setting in the FS options actually work when used together with Traffic2004?Am I right in thinking it limits the number of airline flightplans in use?I had my % at 60%. I was at Princess Juliana and saw the Air France, Continental, USAir that I'd set up.. yet not a sign of the KLM, American or Corsair.I always assumed that the system would use all the airline flightplans but cut a % of flights, whereas it seems to use all the flights but in a % of the airline flightplans. Is this right?

Hi,No, neither one is correct. The AI Traffic % limits the plans by comparing the % set in the plan itself to your setting. Example: a plan set at 50% will only be used if your traffic % is 51 or higher. A 99% plan will only be used if your % is 100.How do you find the %ages? Decompile with TTools and look at the plans.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Riiiiiight !Now I get it.How do you set the % in the plan itself then? I use Traffic2004's built in AI flightplan editor but there's no mention of this %Where does it come from?

Hi,If you de-compile the traffic.bgl using TTools you will get a flightplans.txt file. One single plan looks like this:AC#50115,N159QT,99%,24Hr,IFR,03:52:23,07:05:13,070,R,4240,0N0,08:18:31,11:31:21,060,R,4241,KDTWThe % is the 3rd entry. I guess their editor will not show this value. If you do use this method to modify things, remember to save the flightplan and re-compile using TTools.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Download the freeware program Traffic Mover from:www.molitor-home.de/fsThis will allow you to randomise the AI percentage in a whole set of flightplans automatically. One problem - don't know how your flightplans are set up - if for example you have one .bgl for each airline, then you can only randomise one airline at a time.If all the airlines are in one big .bgl file, then you can do them all at once. You will still need Traffic Tools to decompile the BGL files before Traffic Mover can process them.Traffic Mover also does lots of other useful stuff too.....
