AISmooth v1.11a

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a problem. I just upgraded from aismooth v1.00 to v1.11a. All is well until I load flightsim along with fshotseat and ASV. once I asttempt to start a flight aimooth vanishes into thin air. No warning or error messages. Help if you can. Thanks in advance

I have a different problem with AISMOOTH. If does eliminate or at least greatly reduce the number of go arounds as advertised. However I find that any aircraft that has been vectored never gets the chance to land. Has anybody else seen this. In 1.0 this also happened but not to every aircraft. with 1.11A I haven't seen one aircraft land that AISMOOTH vectored. I don't know if this is possible, but in order for this to really work, it would need to set a priority level on each aircraft object. If there is an open field in the object, it can be used to increment the number of times AISMOOTH vectored it. The next time it is checked for other traffic, it would also compare this field with the new traffic. If it's greater, than the new traffic would be vectored in it's place, allowing the first traffic to land. That's probably wishful thinking though!! :)

Thanks

Tom

Hi,Mine also disappears on the odd occasion but I can live with that as it is very rare.My problem is that I run it on my laptop (work equipment) so that I can fly when in boring hotel rooms and it works perfectly. I also run it on my home PC where it 'works' but does not pick up runway allocations (always 00) or distances/ETA. As a result, the program vectors aircraft on to the wrong heading to intercept the ILS. Any ideas?CheersRay

Yes, I've had exactly the same problem, but I've found that all AI eventually do land. I've had aircraft circling for up to 75mins before they get re-vectored to finals which means that if you have quick turnaround times in some schedules then these planes will only remain at their gates for a few mins then start their departure leg. But I don't think I've ever had a plane not land! What I've also noticed is that some incoming AI that enter the AI zone slip through the holding pattern & get vectored straight in whilst the earlier scheduled arrivals are still circling. Then the holding pattern will only decrease when there's a lull in aircraft entering the arrival zone.Lets hope that what you suggest can be implemented in a later version but in the meantime if I want to do some planespotting at a busy airport I'll go & make myself a cup of coffee & play some music!Cheers :)Josh

Hi Jim,Not initially but I then brought the PC in line with the laptop and even copied the AISMOOTH files across so that they were identical. All to no avail.I am grateful for your help though and to anyone else who may be able to provide assistance. I feel really sorry for all those thousands stuck in the stack waiting to land at Heathrow and then being sent off on incorrect headings. :-)CheersRay
