I recently bought a new R/C boat... it's quite a bit of fun! However, I am looking into getting a couple of extra batteries so I dont have to wait 4 hours for only 20 minutes of use. The battery the boat uses is a 7.2v type... on the battery it says it is 1600 mAH. What my question is will higher mAH work, and also, will a higher mAH, say, 3000 mAH, make the run time longer? For example, the 1600mAH battery I have gives me about 20 minutes of run time, but if I were to use a 3000 mAH 7.2v battery pack, would that make my run time 30 or 40 minutes?

To all your questions - Yes just so long as the battery is 7.2V. All you're is the same as putting a heavy duty battery on your car; EG changing from a 12V 45AH to a 12V 60AH.Dave
