A most bizarre problem

Featured Replies

Suddenly FS9 didn't work anymore. It starts up okay when when I set a flight up and it has to load scenery, it crashes.I've taken everything out down to barebones and it still does it.I reinstalled. Still the same problem. Here's the weird thing. The thing that will get it to load okay is to change the weather theme. Then it loads okay. Until next time. Then it crashes again and you have to change the weather to get it to load okay again.I have some downloaded weather themes and Flight Environment. They worked fine before. I've reloaed them but still the same problem.Anyone has any ideas? Thanks.

Do you happen to have DX3 textures added (like Chris Willis FPS clouds for instance) and "render to texture" disabled? This will cause the problems you have described.XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 4x512MBLeadtek 6800GT 256MB (77.72)SB AudigyCH Products Yoke/Pedals USBSee you in the fence...CYYZ

No, but thanks for the suggestion. Render to texture is enabled. I don't know if I have any DX3. The problem started about the time I loaded Lago's Venice scenery. But the problem persists even when removing it.The only solution still remains to switch weather themes back and forth. Then it loads.
