screen blacks out

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,I just noticed that when i am running FS9 in full screen mode and switch to the reduced screen mode everything is fine but when i try to return to full screen mode the window completely blacks out no graphics but i do hear the sounds and i can close the windows and i still get the diagloue box confirming the close of the program, but the window is completely black, I have installed Active Sky 5 and Fs Global and i am running the nvidia 77.78 drivers for my video card. any thoughts?Paul

Nearest I can tell is it is still a problem with different versions of video drivers. There is a way around it though. When the window blacks out, hit the ALT key and go to Settings/Display and enable AA in FS. This will bring the screen back in full screen mode. Now you can go and turn off AA in FS.Not perfect, but it saves wrecking a nice flight by having to reboot.

yep that work around did the trick, so from what i am hearing is that there is a glitch/problem with these detonator drivers?thanksPaul

Well, Paul, I have the 6600GT AGP, and I had the same problem, so I stepped back to 66.93 drivers that came with the card. Problems gone!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!

also, starting fs2004 in windowed mode might prevent the problem.and instead of alt-enter-ing outy of fs2004,one could also hit the start menu key on the keybord,if so equipped.cheersJP.
