January 20, 201610 yr I know rudder pedals move the steering wheel by 7 degrees and that steering wheel can move the front wheel by 78 degrees.... I have 2 joysticks, and I want to use one of them only as a steering wheel. And I want to disconnect the rudder from the steering wheel... Can I do that in P3D?
January 20, 201610 yr I assigned an axis to "Steering Set" in FSUIPC. Larry [email protected] HT, Maximus XI Code, 16GB TridentZ @ 4000, 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra Hydro, ekwb EK-KIT P360 water, 4K@30, W10 Pro, P3D v5.0
January 21, 201610 yr Author I assigned an axis to "Steering Set" in FSUIPC. Thank you for the information... But if assign the steering via FSUIPC, how does the front wheel behaves when I move the rudder axis? Does it behaves correctly, i.e. moves only 7 degrees? Thanks!
January 22, 201610 yr Yes, FSUIPC can handle that as long as you assign both the rudder axis and the steering axis to "direct to FSUIPC calibration". Check the "FSUIPC4 for Advanced Users" pdf for the details. January 23, 201610 yr Author I try when I come back home next week... than I'll post the results... Thanks!
February 1, 201610 yr Author Yes, FSUIPC can handle that as long as you assign both the rudder axis and the steering axis to "direct to FSUIPC calibration". Check the "FSUIPC4 for Advanced Users" pdf for the details. But is there a way to make the steering tiller move only the front wheel, and not the rudder? That's how it is in the real aircraft...
February 4, 201610 yr Author I was thinking about creating an invisible front wheel in the "contact points" and assign a joystick command to it...
February 4, 201610 yr Author I finally managed to do it with FSUIPC... Add-ons > FSUIPC > 'Axis Assignment' Tab. Check 'Profile specific' if you want to create a specific one for the add-on you're assigning tiler to... Then for the tiler... Move the axis (of your hardware) you want to assign tiler to. Select 'Send to FS as normal axis'.Choose 'Steering Set' in the list below. Click 'OK'. Rudder pedals keep moving the steering by 78 degrees, but decreasing as speed increases... At 60 knots, rudder can't move the steering... Well, it's not perfect, but satisfactorily...
